A rabbit?

[ She thinks for a second. ] Well, you need a cage and bedding. You have to clean out the bedding once a day since it gets dirty. And if you get one with long hair you have to brush it a lot! And they eat vegetables.

[ That's about all she knows. ]

Yes.

Oh, alright. Is there more to know, [ um. ] or are there any books about it? [ This place had a lot of books, he knew that much. But he didn't know what topics there were. ]

Probably...but this is more a pet supply and animal store. I think there's book stores around here. They'll probably have a lot of books on rabbits!

Alright, I'll look there too. Um, would you mind showing me more about your animals...?

Well, we have the normal ones down here. [ Pointing as she speaks. ]

Gerbils, rabbits, dogs, cats, lizards, a snake or two, spiders. Probably more. And upstairs there's wild animals! You could take a gazelle if you wanted!

[ There are so many animals that he had no idea people kept as pets. ] Does people really keep spiders for pets?

What's a gazelle?

I think! I'd keep one but then my turkey may eat it... [ She likes weird animals herself. ]

And a gazelle...hmm, think of a deer but with straight horns! [ sort of ]

That sounds quite peculiar. But not impossible, I suppose.

A deer... Oh, I see. I haven't seen any real deer, but I have seen pictures, once.
